Light Alloyed Drill Rods of Tool joint’s Connection are designed for drilling wellsfor drilling wells advantageously with the core method using of diamond and hard alloyed crowns at increased rotation currents during searches and exploration on solid minerals and water, in directional drilling and in correction chassis of wells, in engineering-geological surveys, in construction.

Rods are made of aluminium alloy D16T, tool joints are made of steel – 40XН. The tool joints are connected to smooth rods with the using of the thread and a special glue.

LADR are designed instead of Light Alloyed Drill Rods for Core Drilling with diameter 42 mm, 54mm and 68mm and in addition to rods SUDR.

Using of LADR in the operation provides:

  • Maximum increase of the drilling productivity with

more completely using of speed opportunities of
the modern drill equipment;

  • Quality increase and the efficiency of wells’ chassis management, also in directional drilling;
  • Reduction of the extra tool nomenclature and also the lightness drill crew’s labour conditions, significant economy of the time for the jostle operations, reduction of transportation expenses;
  • Coverage practically the whole set of diamond drill crowns on types and diameters of the whole range of exploration wells’ depths up to 3500 m and the given drill equipment, owing to the wide nomenclature of drill rods according to diameters and lengths.

 

Light Alloyed Drill Rods are used on rigs which meet requirements given in Table 1.

 

LADR of Tool Joint’s Connection - Light Alloyed Drill Rods of the new generation – significantly exceeds domestic LADRCDLADRCD and foreign drill rods of the nipple joint:

  • Owing to the construction features the durability on the bending LADR are higher in 35%, than LADRCDLADRCD and foreign analogues;
  • For detachable tool joint’s threads of LADR it is required almost less cycles in 2 times as compared with square threads of LADRCD till the whole screwing of the threading connection. The superficial durability of tool-joint’s threads is realized with the help of carrying out of the chemical-thermal treatment (carbonitration) at our plant completely excludes their defect because of jamming and wear;
  • LADR are more effective in high-frequency drilling, predominantly in diamond way of drilling, and also

in correction of wells’ chassis  and in directional drilling;

  • LADR are produced of different dimensions: with diameter from 43mm up to 85 mm. with wall thickness from 7mm up to 9.5 mm and length from 0.7mm up to 6.2 m. The using of analogical outside diameters and detachable tool joints’ threads provides the complete interchangeability of LADR and SUDR. This fact lets to form different optimal cracker of drill column from SUDR and LADR.

For example, in drilling of wells in solid soils with bits, which have diameters 93 mm, with the depth of wells 200 and more meters it is important to install in the lower part of  the column drill rods SUDR-85 with length 150m (for creation axial load up to 20 KiloNewton), and in the upper part – light alloyed LADR-85. It will be allowed to use the most high rotation frequencies, which can be saved on significant wells’ depths having the high safety of the drill column. Besides, the labour conditions of the drill crew will be lighted – during jostle operations there is no use to change elevators, drive-heads and keys of the rod’s turn and the labour of manual operations of the assistant driller significantly reduces owing to using LADR.
